Miami's Identity Festival postponed; Wednesday's Tampa show still on
If you love electronic music, Tampa is the only place to be this week. Seriously.
The first-ever Identity Festival, bringing together a huge array of DJs, hip-hop acts and electronic artists, has postponed its Miami date on Aug. 25 in anticipation of Hurricane Irene. The Tampa show on Wednesday (8/24) is still on, and no changes to the schedule are expected.
Live Nation outlined some of the updates in a series of Tweets Monday and Tuesday:
Tampa IDentity Festival update! All stages will be undercover. Weather will not be an issue! ... Due to the potential effects of Hurricane Irene, the 8.25 MIA date of IDentity Festival presented by Skullcandy is postponed ... Info re: a potential reschedule date will be released on 8.29 @ 5PM Eastern. In meantime refunds will be available at the point of purchase. ... IDentity is scheduled to perform as planned on 8.24 in Tampa. ... No other dates are affected.
Doors open at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the 1-800-Ask-Gary Amphitheatre in Tampa. Click here for details. If you're wondering about performance times, sadly, they're not announced until festival time -- but you can get an idea of when your favorite act will show up by looking at past set times. Click here, and then click on the "details" link for most of the past dates. For our money, we'll probably show up in the 2 to 5 p.m. range, to see Holy Ghost! (above), Hercules and Love Affair and the Crystal Method.
