Mumford & Sons bringing 'Gentlemen of the Road' Tour to Florida
It's no secret people in Tampa Bay are dying for a visit from Mumford & Sons. The University of South Florida's Student Government even started a viral campaign to get the throwback folk-rockers to play the USF Sun Dome. (Spoiler alert: It didn't work.)
The Grammy-nominated group hasn't booked a Tampa stop yet, but there is some good news: This fall, Mumford & Sons will bring a new edition of their popular traveling roadshow to Florida.
The 2013 "Gentlemen of the Road" Tour will come to St. Augustine on Sept. 13-14, and will feature support from Fun., Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, The Vaccines, Half Moon Run, Those Darlins, Willy Mason, Bear's Den and more.
If you think that sounds more like a festival than a tour stop, you're exactly right -- Mumford & Sons want these tour stops to feel like major events. Last year's Gentlemen of the Road tour featured stops in unconventional locales like Portland, Maine, and Bristol, Va. Each one was a sold-out blockbuster. And with the names on board for the St. Augustine stop, we'd expect more of the same.
The details for the St. Augustine show are still in the works, but we do know Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes will perform on Friday, Sept. 13, and Mumford & Sons will perform on Saturday, Sept. 14.
The festival's website, GentlemenOfTheRoad.com, appears overwhelmed with traffic at the moment, which should give you an indication as to just how massive the demand will be for tickets. If you want them, we'd suggest snapping them up the second they go onsale at 11 a.m. Friday. Click here for all the details.
