The National coming to the House of Blues in Orlando

If there was one indie rock band we were hoping might come to Tampa Bay this fall, it would have to be The National. Their new album High Violet is one of the moodiest, loveliest, most swoonworthy efforts of 2010, and with a fall tour looming, we had our fingers crossed that they might swing through Tampa on their way to bigger and brighter things.

Bad news: They're not coming to Tampa. But good news: They will be in Orlando.

The National are coming to the House of Blues in Downtown Disney on Oct. 6, according to their website and Ticketmaster. The opening act is Owen Pallett of Final Fantasy, all but guaranteeing this show will attract every single indie nerd from here to Daytona Beach. (Are there indie nerds in Daytona Beach?  We'll have to get back to you on that.)

Tickets are $23.25-$36.75 through Ticketmaster, and they go onsale Saturday. Click here for details.

Go ahead and break our hearts, Arcade Fire, MGMT and Vampire Weekend. We know you won't be coming here, either. At least we'll always have La Roux.
