Need a reason to drink? Hit the Emerald as FILTH turns 1
For a year now, maybe the hottest DJs-and-drink-specials night in St. Pete has been FILTH, Wednesday nights at the Emerald. How crazy does it get? See the above photo of last year's FILTH Halloween party for an idea.
About 150 people come out each week for drink deals and sets by artists like Crate Brothers, Bayside Scoundrels, DJ Mega and DJ Chang. The music ranges from old-school punk (the Misfits, the Vibrators) to old-school hip-hop (Salt-n-Pepa, Too Short) to new-school hipster music (the Virgins, M83).
This week, FILTH celebrates its one-year anniversary of getting folks effed up on a dime with an extra-long party. Bayside Scoundrels, DJ Mega, Dfunkdamager are among those manning the decks. Admission is $1, with a free shot for the first 150 folks. Other specials include $1 16-ounce MIller High Lifes and $2 SoCo Suicides.
The "Filth: One Year Down the Tubes" party is 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. at the Emerald, 550 Central Ave., St. Petersburg. Click here for details.
