New Kids on the Block, Backstreet Boys coming to Orlando's Amway Center

Is it time for Tampa music fans to start officially worrying about Orlando's brand-spanking-new Amway Center?
So far in 2011, three major tours -- Taylor Swift, Brad Paisley and Sade -- have skipped Tampa's St. Pete Times Forum and taken their tours to Amway. Today another tour announced plans to hit Orlando instead of Tampa: The retro-dreamy megatour featuring New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys.
The two boy-band titans will hit Orlando on July 22, according to their joint tour website (yes, they have a joint tour website -- that's how excited certain fans are for this tour). Tickets are scheduled to go onsale for $29.50-$89.50 on Jan. 15. Click here to purchase.
We may be reading too much into this -- after all, Tampa's still getting Linkin Park, Ozzy Osbourne and Iron Maiden. Maybe Tampa and Orlando just made some back-room deal that all rock acts will play Tampa, and all pop acts will play Orlando. Who knows?
