-- Chris McCarty of Gainesville's Chris McCarty Band is playing a free show July 24 at Push Ultra Lounge to raise money for Share a Little Sunshine, a grass-roots tourism program for the state of Florida. But there's a catch: You have to invite a friend to visit you in Florida through this site. Bring a printed invitation confirmation to Push, and you'll get in for free.
-- Two nice concert announcements from THX MGMT: Tigercity is coming to New World Brewery on Oct. 3, and the lineup for their annual Summer Jam on Aug. 30 at NWB is shaping up nicely: The Honorary Title, Good Old War, Cory Branan, Morningbell, the Beauvilles, Guiltmaker, Mogul Street Reserve, How Dare You, Larcen, Blind Man's Colour, Infarel and more.
