News: MC Chris, David Copperfield, Anti-Pop Music Festival and more




-- Nerdcore icon MC Chris, above, is coming to Crowbar on Nov. 13 with Whole Wheat Bread and I Fight Dragons. Tickets are $12-$14; go here for details. And here's a review of his last local show, at the Orpheum in May.

-- David Copperfield's latest trick? Making his January performance at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center disappear.

-- Lilyphone has also cancelled their Jaeb Theater show at TBPAC on Dec. 7. Dan Dyer will step in as a replacement.

-- Pete Yorn, Marky Ramone and Brooke Waggoner have been added to the lineup at the Anti-Pop Music Festival, from Nov. 11-13 in downtown Orlando. Yacht, Minus the Bear, the aforementioned MC Chris and others were already on the bill.

-- Alice Cooper and System of a Down's John Dolmayan are among the celebrities lending their likenesses to The Rufnex, a new project by Tampa comic book artist Michael A. Insignares. Also in the book: Robin Williams, Jesse James (the one who's married to Sandra Bullock) and Lost's Nestor Carbonell.

-- Morningbell's Travis Atria has started an online arts and music magazine called ... Thriller.

-- Mega-talented Spring Hill rapper Laws has signed a deal with Grammy-winning producers J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League. Keep an eye on this kid.
