Odd Future coming to the Ritz Ybor in Tampa

Dear sweet holy god in merciful heaven. This is happening.

Odd Future, a.k.a. Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All, are coming to the Ritz Ybor in Tampa. Led by controversial frontman Tyler, the Creator, the L.A. hip-hop crew -- maybe them most controversial rap artist since Eminem, and certainly the most hyped supergroup since the Wu-Tang Clan -- will perform at the Ritz on Nov. 2. Tickets are $20, and they'll go onsale Aug. 6. Click here.

The group of teens and twentysomethings has blown up the Internet since coalescing a few years ago, thanks to unconventional beats and sounds, insanely creepy (and sometimes offensive) lyrics, and an anarchic punk spirit that leads to performances like this and this. All of this has led them to perform at festivals like Coachella and South by Southwest, as well as onstage at the mtvU Woodie Awards, and earned them mad respect from the Pitchfork set.

And then there's Tyler, the Creator, the group's breakout star, a dude so adept at stirring the pot that the Onion's A.V. Club started headlining its daily updates on his antics "Today in Tyler, the Creator ... " His self-directed clip for Yonkers, above, is nominated for Video of the Year at the MTV Video Music Awards. And he's become a villian to a legon of critics who slam his lyrics as homophobic and misogynist -- including artists like Tegan and Sara. (Though considering the dude's Twitter handle, no one should be surprised by what he says.)

Because this is being billed as an Odd Future show, we can only assume we'll see most of the members -- Tyler, the Creator, Frank Ocean, Hodgy Beats ... probably not Earl Sweatshirt, though.

If you see only one gangsta/horrorcore/rap/punk show this fall ... make it this one.
