Orlando's Electric Daisy Carnival lineup: Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Afrojack and more
How big is electronic music in 2012? According to the Hollywood Reporter, this year's Electric Daisy Carnival drew 320,000 EDM fans to Las Vegas, pumping $207 million into the local economy.
In the past few years, EDC has spread to additional corners of the country, including Orlando. And while the dates for EDC Orlando 2012 were announced a while back, we didn't get the lineup until Thursday night.
Three of the world's top DJs -- Tiesto (above), Armin Van Buuren and Afrojack -- lead Orlando's initial Electric Daisy Carnival lineup, scheduled for Nov. 9-10 at Orlando's Tinker Field. Bassnectar, Markus Schulz, Cedric Gervais, Borgore, Crizzly, Audrey Napoleon, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, Morgan Page and Tampa's own Nerd Rage are among the other notable names on the bill. Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren and Afrojack are big names, though there is no sign of some of the other big EDM names that have graced festivals in recent years -- Skrillex, Avicii, Deadmau5, David Guetta, Calvin Harris, etc. But there may still be additions.
For now, though, organizers are expecting some 50,000 fans to purchase tickets. Day tickets are $49.50-$150 on Ticketmaster; weekend passes are $99-$249. Click here for details.
