Paradiso Girls bringing 'Patron Tequila' to Push Ultra Lounge
Today's Great Moment in Musical Product Placement comes from the Paradiso Girls, singers of the hit track Patron Tequila.
The song includes the lyrics: "Tell the bartender bring the ice, and let 'em know I'm on Patron." Catchy. Hummable. Not awkward in the least.
For more lessons how to inject your music with a little cold hard corporate cash, head to Push Ultra Lounge Saturday night, where the Paradiso Girls will make a promotional appearance and play a 30-minute set. Best part: It's free for ladies, $10 for guys. (If you feel like paying more, just buy something with Patron in it. The money all goes to the same place in the end.)
But this Patron-sponsored event is only one of the many brand-intensive concerts taking place this summer in Tampa Bay.
You already know about the free, Jim Beam-sponsored Hold Steady concert July 2 at the Ritz Ybor. But did you also know that Saturday's Kid Rock-Lynyrd Skynyrd concert at the Ford Amphitheatre is sponsored by Red Stag, Jim Beam's new black-cherry flavored bourbon? Or that the Aug. 8 Kenny Chesney show at the FordAmp is sponsored by Corona Extra?
That's a lot of liquor, we know. For the kiddies, how about the Hershey's Rocks Your Block contest with Rascal Flatts, who are coming to the Ford Amphitheatre July 25 for the American Living Unstoppable Tour 2009 presented by JC Penney?
How will you get there? Pick up a new Ford F-150, the title sponsor of Toby Keith's show at the Ford Amphitheatre on Friday.
Phew. All this product placement is making us tired. We should head to the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Fest on Aug. 11 with Marilyn Manson and Slayer.
What's your favorite moment in rock-product-placement history? While you're thinking, get the Paradiso Girls Push concert flyer after the jump.
