Pat Metheny's insane one-man orchestra comes to Ruth Eckerd Hall
So not long ago, we watched I Love You Man, and we also re-watched the entire run of Freaks and Geeks. And one thing we noticed -- and we're sure we're not alone in this -- is that in both projects, Jason Segel's character is obsessed with Rush.
Why? Simple: The Canadian prog-rockers are the band every semi-nerdy music dude loves to love (must be the potential for all those awesome air-drum solos). In both I Love You Man and Freaks and Geeks, Jason Segel is that dude.
And if Jason Segel lived in Tampa, he would definitely be in the crowd when Rush comes to the Ford Amphitheatre on Oct. 1 for their "Time Machine" tour. Ticket info hasn't been announced, but here's the official Live Nation page for the show.
On the 40-city North American trek, they'll play the album Moving Pictures in its entirety -- including smash singles Tom Sawyer and Limelight -- from start to finish, but you'll also get to hear songs from their upcoming 20th studio album, according to Pollstar.
No doubt Stuck in the 80s will be all over this one, too. Here's their take.
