Plain White T's coming to The Club at Treasure Island
We mean no disrespect to folks like Jon Secada, KC and the Sunshine Band and Lou Gramm. But come on. If The Club at Treasure Island is serious about becoming a regionally respected concert venue, they need to start booking some younger acts.
Looks like they know that, too -- and they're doing something about it.
The Plain White T's are no one's idea of a cutting-edge band in 2011, but they've at least sniffed some big-time pop-music success in the past five years. And no matter how you feel about Hey There Delilah (you're sick of it, we know), you can't deny that 1, 2, 3, 4 is a masterpiece in efficient pop balladry.
The T's were actually the last band we saw at the old Jannus Landing, before it all went kerplooie, and was taken over by Jeff Knight and Bill Edwards. Now that Edwards is helming The Club at Treasure Island, the T's are back in town.
