R. Kelly coming to Tampa in November

R. Kelly announced dates for his upcoming fall tour on Wednesday, and guess what? Tampa made the cut. He'll be here on Nov. 29.

However, mercurial doctor of love that he is, R. Kelly declined to release any venues or ticket details. So while we know he'll be in town, we don't know where, exactly, he'll be performing.

Discounting for a moment the possibility he'll be at New World Brewery, let's start guessing. There's no Lightning home game on Nov. 29, so the St. Pete Times Forum is an option. So is the Ford Amphitheatre, but R. Kelly's not really a shed type of guy. The Tampa Theatre seems too small.

The mega-blockbuster Alice in Wonderland musical is scheduled for that week at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center ... but it's in Ferguson Hall, not the much roomier Carol Morsani Hall. R. Kelly performing there is unlikely, but it's at least a possibility. (And even though it's across the bay, Ruth Eckerd Hall is out -- they're staging The Color Purple that day.)

Our best bet: R. Kelly will be at the St. Pete Times Forum, and he'll make use of the "Blue Line Theatre" setup, which seats between 4,000 and 5,000 and has been used for shows like Michael Buble, Celtic Thunder and Katt Williams. But that's just our guess.

When we hear more, we'll let you know. In the meantime, feel free to leave your own guesses in the comments.

The Brass Mug, anyone?
