A ton of bands like the Flaming Lips, Beastie Boys, Elvis Costello, Ani Difranco and the Hold Steady are releasing limited-edition CDs, singles and vinyl records, and some stores are planning special events. Here’s what some Tampa Bay shops have planned:

Vinyl Fever: Brian Posehn will be there at 2 p.m. to sign copies of his upcoming CD, Fart and Wiener Jokes. Tampa band Auto?Automatic??  will play a free in-store show at 3:30 p.m. There will also be free PBR, giveaways and more. 4110 Henderson Blvd., Tampa. (813) 289-8399.

Mojo Books and Music: In addition to giveaways, the store is plotting an all-day concert, with performers including Sons of Hippies, Blind Man’s Colour, Diamond Man and more. The music runs noon to midnight. 2558 E Fowler Ave., Tampa. (813) 971-9717.

Bananas Music and Movies: One of the world’s largest vinyl distributors will have snacks, promos, live music by James O’Neill and the Silver Shadows between noon and 3 p.m., and more. Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 2226 16th Ave. N, St. Petersburg. (727) 327-4616.

Sound Exchange: There will be special releases at all three locations (14246 N Nebraska Ave., Tampa; 7688 49th St. N, Pinellas Park; 732 W Lumsden Road, Brandon). At the Tampa location, you can enter to win free tickets to the tbt* Ultimate Local Music Showcase Saturday night at Skipper’s Smokehouse; the drawing for 20 tickets is at 5 p.m.

Daddy Kool Records: The store is staging a free 13-hour live music marathon at Fubar, 658 Central Ave., featuring artists including Alexander and the Grapes, Sleepy Vikings and New Bruises. There will be free PBR, Red Bull, Chipotle and cupcakes. Record Store Day doubles as an official grand opening party for Daddy Kool’s new location at 666 Central Ave., St. Petersburg.
