Red Hot Chili Peppers coming to the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa
Anthony Kiedis: Now there's a guy who probably doesn't mind getting socks for Christmas.
As for his fans? Now you can surprise them with Red Hot Chili Peppers tickets.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers are coming to the Tampa Bay Times Forum in Tampa on Jan. 23, the venue (which is currently still known as the St. Pete Times Forum) announced this morning. It's their first Forum show in 5 years. Alternative rapper and all-around fly chica Santigold will open the show. Tickets are $42.25 and $62.25, and they go onsale Saturday (10/10). Click here for details.
It'll be interesting to see how this one plays out. The Chili Peppers are one of the biggest bands in America, and are renowned for pretty stellar live shows, but in general, the world sort of shrugged at their latest album, I'm With You, released in April. And they no longer feature guitar genius John Frusciante on the axe. Still, if Kieds and Flea plan to bring the funk like we know they can on Give It Away and Higher Ground, we'll be there.
And just in case you're interested, the Chili Peppers will also be playing at Orlando's Amway Center on Jan. 21.
