Review: Heartthrob violinist David Garrett makes the Capitol Theatre swoon
A virtually sold-out crowd came out to see crossover pop violin sensation David Garrett at the Capitol Theatre in Clearwater on Tuesday. Among them: John Fleming, who writes in his concert review that Fleming, while retaining "fashion model good looks," managed to blend classical favorites with some unexpected pop covers:
Tuesday's program had a nice new arrangement of Live and Let Die that featured good interplay between the violinist and John Haywood on keyboard. Metallica's Nothing Else Matters was surprisingly delicate, perhaps the most classical sounding of the rock arrangements. Led Zeppelin's Kashmir went down well with the adoring audience.
