Robert Plant coming to Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater

Man, July's gonna be a busy month at Ruth Eckerd Hall. First they get a Beatle, now they're getting the singer of Led Zeppelin.

Robert Plant and his Band of Joy will embark on a short 12-city summer tour this year, and it'll stop at Ruth Eckerd Hall on July 30, according to his Web site, Rolling Stone and There's no word yet on ticket prices or availability, but we'll keep you posted.

The tour is timed to support his as-yet-untitled new album, which will feature a lineup of talented Nashville session players. That means it's likely to have a feel similar to Raising Sand, Plant's Grammy-winning collaboration with Alison Krauss.

Hopefully Plant's new musical direction, not to mention the stately setting of Ruth Eckerd Hall, means fans won't end up rioting during the show, which is what happened when Plant and Led Zep came to Tampa Stadium in 1977.
