Selena Gomez has officially been spotted in St. Petersburg
Let the celebrity-spotting begin!
Last year, musicians Harry Connick Jr. and Kris Kristofferson were in town during the filming of Dolphin Tale in and around Clearwater. This year, the big musician living in Tampa Bay is pop singer Selena Gomez, one of the stars of the indie movie Spring Breakers, which starts filming in and around St. Pete and Sarasota next week. She's joined by kinda-sorta musical figures Vanessa Hudgens (star of High School Musical) and Heather Morris (star of Glee), plus James Franco, who always seems liable to bust out with an album of folktronica/hip-hop/gypsycore/trance music at any given moment.
On Wednesday, Gomez was spotted at a Walgreen's at 66th Street and Central Avenue by 16-year-old Talio Mirisha, who snapped the photo above and had Gomez sign a get-well card for his girlfriend. We consider this the first paparazzi photo of the Spring Breakers frenzy.
Starting now, we invite you to share with us any encounters you may have with the stars of the film. Send your photos to firstname.lastname@example.org. Even if they're not music related, we may collect them as proof that a movie this weird actually happened here. Hey, we gotta do SOMETHING to pass the time until the premiere of Magic Mike.
