Transitions Art Gallery, the tiny venue behind Skatepark of Tampa that’s housed countless local and punk shows, will now make its own transition into new ownership and a new name.

In a Facebook post this week, owner Matt Welch announced that after eight years of operation, he will step down and starting Jan. 1, the venue will now be known as Epic Problem. Fans of Transitions shouldn’t fret too much though, as the new owner is Matt Ostraco, guitarist/vocalist of local punk band Criminal Culture.

Among some of the more memorable shows Transitions put on include a drop-in by Ian McKaye’s band The Evens, a now-unimaginable bill of Matt and Kim, Monotonix and comedian Reggie Watts, and pre-Fest shows that could feature dozens of bands and go on well past 2 a.m. Its last show is Dec. 29.
