Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax coming to Hard Rock Live in Orlando
The world made a big fuss last year when it was announced that Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax would be performing a few festival dates in Europe this summer, their first shows on one bill. These "Big Four" shows culimated in a recent theatrical event streamed to movie houses nationwide, so old-school metal fans could get a taste of this historic congress of carnage.
We're still waiting for a Big Four show in America, but this is the next best thing. Slayer and Megadeth are gearing up for the second leg of their "American Carnage" tour this fall, and Anthrax is on board to replace original opener Testament. This is the three bands' first extensive tour together since 1991, when they were joined by a young Alice In Chains.
And what would a metal tour be without a stop in Central Florida? Slayer, Metallica and Anthrax will perform Oct. 2 at Hard Rock Live in Orlando. Tickets go onsale July 23 to the general public; general admission is $45-$10. But there are an array of presales and ticket deals available through each band's website, including the promise of $10 tickets in many cities. Blabbermouth.net has the details.
So the big question is: When the American Carnage tour wraps up, will we see Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax join forces with Metallica for the ultimate metal tour of all time? Probably not immediately, as Metallica is touring Australia until around Thanksgiving.
But who knows what brutal acts 2011 will bring? Cross your devil horns.
