Sleigh Bells, CSS coming to the State Theatre in St. Petersburg
In case you have no idea how loud Sleigh Bells is, one look at their website should tell you. Garish, flashy, uncontrollable graphics screaming at you like a neon firework: Yeah, that's pretty much the visual equivalent of Infinity Guitars.
Improbably, the wall-of-noise pop-metal duo was one of the breakout indie acts of 2010, with their debut album Treats dishing out loud yet loveable jingles like Rill Rill, Riot Rhythm and Tell 'Em. They opened for LCD Soundsystem last fall. And they even have Florida roots -- guitarist/songwriter Derek Miller is an alumnus of the SoFla hardcore band Poison The Well.
Come April, curious Tampa Bay fans will finally get their first solid look at Miller and singer Alexis Krauss. According to Pollstar and Pitchfork, Sleigh Bells will hit the State Theatre in St. Petersburg on April 29. The icing on the cake: Brazilian dance-rock outfit CSS will open the show. So this will be a danceable ... thrashable... absolutely odd, insane, screamable night to remember.
We'll bring you the ticket details when we get 'em. IN LOUD, SCREAMING COLOR.
