Snoop Dogg concert moved to State Theatre; world makes sense again

It seems we weren't the only ones perplexed by the WTF-iness of a Feb. 8 concert by Snoop Dogg at Boubron Street in New Port Richey.

Tha Doggfather has moved the concert from the mean streets of Pasco County to the State Theatre in downtown St. Petersburg, according to Ticketmaster, Bourbon Street's Web site and the State Theatre's Web site. Ticket prices are still the same ($37-$42), and tickets purchased to the Bourbon Street show will be honored.

This makes a lot more sense to us, and we're glad we don't have to worry about the big D-O-double's sliding financial fortune. After opening for Slightly Stoopid and performing at a metal club, he was a few steps away from performing on the state fair circuit. And there's very little marijuana at most state fairs.

This means Soundcheck's 2010 WTF Concert of the Year trophy is once again back up for grabs. (And no, Garrison Keillor performing on the high seas of Tampa Bay isn't eligible.) Any nominees?
