Social Distortion, Lucero coming to Jannus Live

Jannus Landing has hosted a couple of decent punk shows over the years: The Ramones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bad Religion, X.

If you miss that kind of atmosphere at the new Jannus Live, you're in for a treat: Social Distortion has just announced a fall tour, and they're coming to Jannus Live on Nov. 12.

It's yet another return to Jannus's roots, as Social D has played there several times over the years, most recently in 2005. (In fact, the band's website still has the venue listed as "Jannus Landing." Someone wanna tell Mike Ness to get with the times?)

Oh, but it gets better. Memphis garage punks Lucero -- most recently seen melting off faces at Czar -- and Frank Turner will open the show. For cowpunks, greasers, rockabillies and anyone else who misses Johnny Cash, this show is as good as it gets.

Daddy Kool has the tickets listed at $34.50 (that's $30 plus a slight service charge) so expect tickets somewhere in that range. According to the band's website, they're scheduled to go onsale Friday.
