SoundBytes: Andrew Allen, Grouplove, Jessie J and more

-- Interesting venue alert: Canadian pop-rock singer Andrew Allen is checking into the Renaissance Tampa International Plaza Hotel. It's part of the hotel chain's new entertainment program, in which artists ranging from Bruno Mars to Robyn will perform at various Renaissance hotels around the world. Allen, who has topped the Canadian charts with his sunny pop style, recently opened for Joshua Radin at the State Theatre. He'll perform at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday (5/3) at Pelagia Trattoria in the Renaissance International Plaza Hotel (it's the hotel connected to International Plaza, obviously). Click here for details.

-- We're still not sure how it came to pass that British soul singer Jessie J appeared on Saturday Night Live a few weeks ago. But if you liked what you saw, and you want to see more, she's coming to Tampa. You can win tickets to a short acoustic set by the singer on May 23 at the Best Buy Musical Instruments Theatre at the Clear Channel studios in Tampa. Click here for details.

-- Breaking news: It Looks like CSS, and not Sleigh Bells, will be closing their co-headlining show Friday at the State Theatre. So depending on who you most want to see, adjust your schedule accordingly.

-- Per Consequence of Sound, the buzzed-about L.A. band Grouplove is coming to Orpheum on June 11. Click here.

-- For the first time in years, American Idols Live is not coming to Tampa. If you want to see your favorite American Idol contestants in concert this summer, you'll have to drive up I-4 to Orlando's Amway Arena, where the show will take place

-- Welp: This is happening. Stay tuned for more details soon.
