SoundBytes: Bruno Mars, Aaron Carter, Waka Flocka Flame and more
-- Is Bruno Mars coming to the 1-800-Ask-Gary Amphitheatre, Tampa Bay Times Forum or USF Sun Dome? All we know at this point is that he IS coming to Tampa. The singer announced cities for his Moonshine Jungle world tour this week, and Tampa made the cut. Ellie Goulding and/or Fitz and the Tantrums will open the show, but that's all we know. We'll have to wait on a date, venue and tickets. Feels kinda like he's locking us out of heaven, doesn't it?
-- And speaking of the Kennedy: Boxer Floyd "Money" Mayweather will be celebrating his birthday there on Feb. 24. Tickets are $20-$50. Click here.
-- Bubba's Army will turn out for this one: Ned and the Lone Wolf Band, a rock outfit led by Bubba the Love Sponge character/parody-song artist Ned (and played, reportedly, by Bubba sidekick Mike "Manson" Waters) will play a concert on March 9 at the Ritz Ybor. Tickets are $15. Click here.
-- Tampa station WQYK has been nominated once again for the Academy of Country Music's Station of the Year Award.
-- The Mahaffey Theater is offering students a special deal on tickets for Sunday's concert featuring Del McCoury Band and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. Students can purchase tickets for just $15 at the Mahaffey Box office, provided they have proper ID. Considering tickets normally start at $45.50, that's a heck of a deal. Click here.
-- The Feb. 27 concert by Straight Line Stitch at the State Theatre has been canceled. On the plus side, though, the State has added shows by Framing Hanley (April 6) and Sevendust (May 27). Click here.
