SoundBytes: The Cult, Uncle Kracker, NOFX and more

-- So ... Uncle Kracker is basically a country singer at this point, right? He's apparently coming to the Dallas Bull on Nov. 12, as part of his first-ever country club tour. (That's a tour of country-music clubs, not, like, golf courses. You know what we mean.) Click here for dates.

-- British hard rock legends The Cult have announced a bunch of concert dates on their website, and the State Theatre is on there. It does list the State Theater as being in Tampa, though, so we wouldn't be surprised if some information is missing here. No other info is available, but we'll keep you posted. Click here for The Cult's tour dates.

-- Pop-punk legends NOFX are coming to the House of Blues in Orlando on Jan. 27, alongside the Bouncing Souls, Cobra Skulls and Old Man Markley. Tickets are $23.25-$26.25. Click here.

-- Also coming to the House of Blues in January: Drive-By Truckers, Widespread Panic's John Bell and Nickel and the Polar Bears, for the Hannah's Buddies Charity Classic. It's Jan. 22, and tickets are $50. Click here.

-- Afroman is coming to Orpheum in Ybor City on Oct. 28. Wonder if he'll play Because I Got High? Nah, we doubt anyone will want to hear that one. They're probably hoping he'll do nothing but rarities, B-sides and deep album cuts. Tickets are $12-$14. Click here.

-- Adler's Appetite, a sort of B-list '80s hair metal supergroup headlined by Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler, is coming to the State Theatre on Oct. 17. Honestly, we can't recount everyone who's in this group at the moment, but over the years, its lineups have included members of Ratt, Faster Pussycat, Enuff Z'Nuff, Warrant and Quiet Riot. Tickets start at $13. Click here.

-- "Doug .... hates ... candy wrappers, screaming babies, sticky seats and 50 ads with popcorn kernels in his teeth ..." If you get that reference, you'll be as happy as we were to learn that noted stoner and awesome podcast host Doug Benson is coming to the Tampa Improv on Dec. 9-12. Click here to buy tickets. Wear your nametags, so we can all play the Leonard Maltin Game!

-- R&B singer Lyfe Jennings' concert Oct. 10 at the Ritz Ybor has been canceled. Yeah, getting sentenced to three years in jail will do that to you. Refunds are available at point of purchase.

-- Want to win a free VIP suite for the big Sublime with Rome concert on Oct. 25 at Jannus Live? Click here.

-- It's time once again to enter your band to win a spot performing on the 97X Next Big Thing stage. The deadline to enter is Oct. 10; the contest runs throughout October and November. The concert is usually the first Sunday in December at the 1-800-ASK-GARY Amphitheatre. Click here for all the details.
