SoundBytes: Dave Matthews Band, Yukon Blonde, Silverstein and more

-- Vancouver's Yukon Blonde, above, are coming to Orpheum on June 18 ... and they're going to do a free in-store set at Tampa's Vinyl Fever that day. Click here for details.

-- Guess who's NOT coming to Tampa in 2011? Dave Matthews Band, breaking a streak of seven summer Ford Amphitheatre shows in seven years. (including one in July). The band is taking all of 2011 off.

-- If you can't make it to the Warped Tour in Vinoy Park on July 23, maybe you'd be interested in the Scream Like You Mean It Tour, coming to the State Theatre on July 31. Participating bands include Silverstein, Emery, Sky Eats Airplane, Dance Gavin Dance, I Set My Friends On Fire, Ivoryline and Close to Home. It's like the Warped Tour, but not.

-- Another State Theatre concert of note (if you like darkly electronic music): Lords of Acid with My Life With the Thrill Kill Cult, on Aug. 6. Tickets are $20.

-- We hope Shakira remembers she owes us a concert. Her upcoming world tour has dates in Fort Lauderdale (Sept. 25) and Miami (Sept. 27), but not Tampa. WE HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN, SHAKIRA.

-- Ten local bands are in the running to open for Paper Tongues and Flobots at the 97X Memorial Day Backyard Barbecue on May 29. They are: Mag Sauce, Trace of Day, Jason Martinez, Orange Hour, Southside Serenade, Variance, Nation of Wealth, The Stand, Misunderstood Superheroes and Rise of Saturn. Click here to vote.

-- Speaking of voting: Click here to vote for Tampa's own Motown Maurice to get a show on Oprah Winfrey's OWN network!

-- The St. Pete Times Forum is reprising its "Community Friendly Friday" series this Friday. Bring in children's toys and supplies for the Children's Cancer Center, and receive discounts on a handful of events, including $10 off select tickets to Carole King and James Taylor, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Andre Rieu, as well as a deal on tickets to Maxwell and Jill Scott.
