SoundBytes: The Dirty Heads, Brett Dennen, Black Tide and more

-- Regggae-rap-rockers the Dirty Heads, above, didn't really impress our reviewer when they performed at 97X Next Big Thing in December. They'll have to work a little harder when they come to Jannus Live on April 23. SOJA is also on the bill. Opening up will be New Politics. For details and tickets, click here.

-- Indie folk singer songwriter Brett Dennen will come to the State Theatre on May 11. Opening the show will be Dawes. Tickets are $20. Click here.

-- Iron Maiden is only playing two dates in the United States this spring, and both are in Florida -- April 16 in Sunrise and April 17 at the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa. So it's fitting that a Miami band, metal outfit Black Tide, will open both shows.

-- The Easy Star All-Stars play dub and reggae versions of Radiohead, Pink Floyd and other trip-rock outfits. Look for them at the State Theatre on April 10. Tickets are $16-$18. Click here.

-- Former Soundcheck Artist of the Day and signees of Tampa's New Granada Records Sunbears! have debuted their collaboration with Yo Gabba Gabba! Oh, the exclamation points! Click here to see the video for their song Imagination Adventure.

-- The Take Action Tour will feature Bayside and Silverstein at the State Theatre on May 1. Tickets are $19-$21. Click here.

-- Prepare to make it rain on Valentine's Day! Bizzle aka Chowtime is performing at the State Theatre on Feb. 14. Tickets are $10, but if you get up close enough to the stage, you may catch enough flying money to make that up.

-- Tampa Bay's favorite Frank Zappa tribute, Bogus Pomp, will play a rare non-Halloween show on Feb. 27 at the Local 662 in St. Petersburg. Click here.

-- Psychobilly hellraiser Big John Bates and the Voodoo Dollz will perform at the Local 662 on March 26. Tickets are $13. Click here.

-- The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino has a new mobile app for iTunes and Android.
