Man, a lot of stories pile up when you're out of the office for a couple of days ...

-- So the Ritz is getting Flogging Molly on Valentine's Day and Dropkick Murphys on March 5 ... can't Tampa just get one celtic punk band to play here on St. Patrick's Day?

-- Jay Reatard + The Semis = one badass show of holy hellfire.

-- Country Music Hall of Famer Charlie Louvin will return to New World Brewery at 6 p.m. Dec. 20, with Blind Buddy Moody and Have Gun, Will Travel. Tickets are $13. Click here for details.

-- Tampa's new metal heroes The Absence have entered the studio -- and they're posting video updates.

-- Speaking of Have Gun, Will Travel, they've got two intriguing shows this week. First, if you're going to be around the WMNF-88.5 studios (1210 E Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd.) this afternoon, HGWT will be playing a free show in the parking lot; it'll be broadcast live on Sonic Detour. Then, on Friday, they'll be performing new album Postcards from the Friendly City live in its entirety. That show is at 8 p.m. at Skipper's Smokehouse with Rebekah Pulley and the Reluctant Prophets, Geri X., and Will Quinlan and the Diviners. Click here for details.

-- Get ex-Tampa Christian artist Jonny Diaz's album More Beautiful You for only $5 at Amazon.com's mp3 store this Friday.

-- NineBullets.net's November podcast features all Florida artists, including local faves like Have Gun, Will Travel, Jim Morey Band, Rebekah Pulley, Will Quinlan and Brahm Bones.

-- Word is the new video by Francillia and Beatnik Castle, Will U B Mine, will appear on Logo's NewNowNext PopLab show at 7 p.m. tonight (11/30).

-- Is Lakeland's Joon still active? According to them, yes.

-- How about some Christmas cards featuring The Almost?

-- Speaking of Christmas: "Dress gangsta and/or festive" for the Eighth Annual Ghetto Xmas, Dec. 19 at Crowbar, featuring Full Fledged Unit and Soft Rock Renegades. You can RSVP here.
