SoundBytes: The Glitch Mob, Xiu Xiu, Mary Chapin Carpenter and more

-- The Glitch Mob, above, have apparently canceled their Aug. 29 show at Jannus Live.

-- On the bright side (well, as bright as this guy can get), the kinda-sorta-emotionally-troubled-sounding Xiu Xiu is coming to Crowbar on Oct. 22. Survey says this qualifies as another official Hip October Concert. Tickets are $10-$12. Click here.

-- Mary Chapin Carptenter's Come On Come On might be Soundcheck's all-time-favorite modern country album. Passionate Kisses, He Thinks He'll Keep Her, The Hard Way and Walking Through Fire are pure, unimpeachable country-pop bliss. So we're thrilled that the semi-reclusive Carpenter will come to Ruth Eckerd Hall on Oct. 7 for the first time in seven years. Tickets are $38-$58, and they go onsale Friday. Click here.

-- Did you miss the Warped Tour in St. Pete? It's cool if so, because a handful of bands from the tour are soon returning to St. Pete. Mayday Parade, Breathe Carolina, Every Avenue, Artist vs. Poet, Go Radio and the Victorious Secrets are teaming up for the "Fearless Friends Tour," which hits the State Theatre on Nov. 27. Tickets are $17-$19, and they go onsale Friday.

-- Another Warped band, Whitechapel, is coming to the State Theatre on Oct. 3. No ticket details yet on that one.

-- Busy times for Clear Channel's Best Buy Musical Instruments Theatre, which hosted an acoustic set by Train on Saturday. They're hosting British it girl V.V. Brown on Friday, Michael Franti on Sept. 1 and Paper Tongues on Sept. 9.

-- Is it Tropical Heatwave time again? One of our favorite artists from this year's Heatwave, Two Man Gentlemen Band, is apparently coming to New World Brewery on Sept. 30. Click here.

-- SoCal ska band Meet Me At The Pub are performing a free show at Jannus Live on Saturday, Aug. 21. Click here.

-- Drummers, get ready: Galactic's Stanton Moore is coming back to Crowbar on Oct. 23. Tickets are $15. Click here.

-- Southern hip-hop fans may be bummed that Big Boi isn't coming to Jannus Live. But they can take solace in the fact that Rehab and the Nappy Roots are, on Oct. 7. Tickest are $12-$15. Click here.

-- If you enjoyed We Are The In Crowd at this year's Warped Tour, good news: They'll be at the Orpheum on Aug. 29. Tickets are $9.50.  Click here.
