SoundBytes: Jeffree Star, Sleigh Bells, Stereo Skyline and more

-- Lots of acts coming to town soon, thanks to the good folks at No Clubs. Like the ultra-colorful Jeffree Star, above (Aug. 21 at the Orpheum; tickets are $12.50) ...

--  ... and Stereo Skyline with The Audition, Cash Cash, Cady Groves and the Downtown Fiction (Aug. 15 at Orpheum, tickets are $12.50) ...

--  ... and Guttermouth (Aug. 12 at the State Theatre; tickets are $15).

-- Bad news, '80s fans: The Go-Go's have canceled their upcoming farewell tour, including a free July 10 postgame concert at Tropicana Field. So far, the Rays haven't booked a replacement act. Stuck in the '80s has the details.

-- Battily insane noise-pop-mongers Sleigh Bells are one of the most blogged-about bands of the moment, and they have roots in Florida. But they're skipping the West Coast of the Sunshine State on their upcoming tour. So far, they've only announced gigs in Jacksonville and West Palm Beach.

-- Love this take from Soundcheck contributor Jeff O'Kelley on how dumb parents can be, letting their infant kids sit six feet from the speakers at major outdoor concerts.

-- Crystal Castles, on the other hand, are coming to Orlando -- specifically, Club Firestone on Sept. 8 (and Miami on Sept. 11). It's not Tampa, but it'll do for now.

-- Look at the Beauvilles, opening for Deer Tick!
