SoundBytes: Jonathan Coulton, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Floyd Mayweather and more

-- Code Monkey like this: Witty, nerdy singer-songwriter Jonathan Coulton will be opening for They Might Be Giants on Feb. 7 at the Ritz Ybor. Click here for info.

-- Authority Zero and the Voodoo Glow Skulls are coming to the Local 662 on Feb. 16. Tickets are $15. Click here.

-- Smash Mouth have canceled their Dec. 29 concert at the Hard Rock Cafe in Tampa. On the one hand, this is disappointing. But in the cosmic scheme of things, this is one less time the universe will have to be subjected to All Star. We, for one, are happy to take one for the king.

-- Big Head Todd and the Monsters really seem like a band that should have been on the So I Married An Axe Murderer soundtrack. But we just checked -- The Boo Radleys, Ned's Atomic Dustbin, Toad the Wet Sprocket ... but no Big Head Todd. Anyway, the Colorado group is coming to the State Theatre on March 8. Tickets are $20-$25, and they go onsale Dec. 9. Click here.

-- If you enjoyed San Fran electronic soundscapist Tycho opening for Little Dragon recently at Crowbar, good news -- he's returning to Crowbar on Jan. 27. tickets are $9-$12. Click here.

-- Blues/punk/country artist Scott H. Biram is coming to Crowbar on Feb. 7. Tickets are $7-$10. Click here.

-- Boxing champ Floyd "Money" Mayweather is hosting a party at The Venue in Clearwater on Sunday (12/4). Click here for info.

-- The Capitol Theatre in Clearwater has called off a planned fundraiser by the Chuch of Scientology.
