SoundBytes: Kansas, Joe Budden, The Appleseed Cast and more

-- The fact that Kansas is performing in Orlando doesn't inherently excite us. But the fact that the classic rockers will be accompanied by the University of Central Florida Symphony Orchestra, as part of a tour designed to raise money and awareness for college symphony programs? We have to admit, that's pretty awesome -- even if none of the student musicians probably have Dust In The Wind on their iPods. (That's Kansas performing with the Kansas State University orchestra earlier this year, above.) The show is Nov. 5 at the UCF Arena; tickets are $23-$50.50. Click here.

-- Rapper Joe Budden is planning an intimate secret show on Friday night at the Drynk in SoHo. Tickets are $30. Click here to get 'em.

-- The long legal saga of reggae star Buju Banton appears to be over. On Thursday, a federal judge in Tampa sentenced him to 10 years in prison for his role in a drug cartel. Click here for the full story.

-- How about this: A national name is coming to lil' ol' Pinellas Park! Country singer-songwriter Darryl Worley will headline Freedom Fest 2011 at the Town Square Plaza Park, on July 3. Click here for details.

-- Dynamic post-rock group The Appleseed Cast is coming to the Local 662 in St. Petersburg on Aug. 25. Tickets are $12. Click here.
