SoundBytes: Lucero, Torche, Beach House and more

-- Above you see Official Soundcheck Crush Lights, who played an acoustic set Friday afternoon in what the folks at Daddy Kool Records called their biggest in-store event ever. More than 120 people showed up, packing the sweltering store, as Lights played six acoustic numbers: Toes, Siberia, Banner, Everybody Breaks a Glass, February Air and Saviour. Great tune-up for her show tonight at the State Theatre. Click here for details on the show.

-- A couple of years ago, we caught raucous Miami/Atlanta garage metal act Torche at Czar. Super-fun time. So check 'em out when they hit Crowbar on April 5. Tickets are a measly $9-$12, and locals Palantine and Feral Babies will open. Click here.

-- We missed most of Lucero's set at Orlando Calling in November. Good theing the Memphis alt-country-punks are coming to St. Petersburg soon. They'll be at the State Theatre on May 25, along with the Soul Rebels Brass Band. Tickets are $20-$23. Click here.

-- Pedro the Lion singer David Bazan will open for City and Colour at the Ritz Ybor on June 5.

-- We don't blame you if you have trouble telling Best Coast and Beach House apart. But it doesn't really matter, because both groups are coming to Tampa, not Orlando. We alread told you about Best Coast's show at the Social on July 9; now Beach House has announced a show at the Beacham Theatre on May 9. Tickets are $20-$25. Click here.

-- If you don't get to see Childish Gambino (a.k.a. Community star Donald Glover) at Wild Splash on Saturday, he'll be coming back to Orlando for a show on June 12. Tickets are $25-$30. Click here.
