-- We already knew that Rick Springfield, Ronnie Dunn, Chris Cagle, Ambrosia and others would be part of the Clearwater Fun 'N Sun 2012 festivities, starting April 20 at Coachman Park. What we did not realize was that singer-songwriter Matt Nathanson, above, would kick off the event with a free concert on April 20. Advanced reserve tickets are $20, VIP is $50. Click here for details.

-- Speaking of festivals: Spanish station 92.5 Maxima is launching its first "Fiesta Maxima" on June 16 at the 1-800-Ask-Gary Amphitheatre in Tampa. The headliner is Puerto Rican pop and reggaeton singer Tito "El Bambino", and there will be other tropical and Latin acts, plus Latin food vendors and more. Tickets are $25-$35 advance, $30-$40 day of show. Click here for info.

-- As you all get excited for Van Halen this Saturday at the Tampa Bay Times Forum, don't forget about the Bay area's top all-star Van Halen tribute band, Van Wilson -- made up of TV reporter Mark Wilson, Hollywood actor Patrick Wilson, and local advertising honcho Paul Wilson. They're returning for a concert benefitting Paws for Patriots on May 26 at the State Theatre. Tickets are $20-$25. Click here for info.

-- Interesting venue alert: Gypsycore act HuDost -- who many of you might remember from performances at Tropical Heatwave -- are performing at St. Peterseburg's Hip Expressions Belly Dance Studio on April 29. Tickets are $15-$18. Click here.

-- Local bands: Are you thinking of launching a Kickstarter project to fund an album or tour? Creative Pinellas is hosting a free Kickstarter 101 workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. April 26 at the Morean Arts Center, 719 Central Ave., St. Pete. Click here for details.
