SoundBytes: Of Monsters and Men, Buckcherry, Shawn Colvin and more

-- Did we just get an accidental sneak peek at the lineup for this year's 97X Next Big Thing 12 in Tampa? Every year, X102.9 in Jacksonville hosts its own year-end radio festival called The Big Ticket, that usually takes place the same weekend as Next Big Thing, and the two lineups often share many artists. This year's Big Ticket is on Sunday, Dec. 2, and the lineup includes Rise Against, Bush, Fun., Anberlin, Silversun Pickups, Grouplove, Of Monsters and Men (above), Imagine Dragons, Paper Tongues, The Joy Formidable and 21 Pilots. We'd bet anything at least half of those acts will also be part of the 2012 Next Big Thing lineup, most likely on Dec. 1. Stay tuned.

-- Yet another interesting show coming to the Cuban Club in Ybor City: Buckcherry, with My Darkest Days and Otherwise, on Oct. 7. Tickets are $15-$20, and they go onsale Friday. Click here.

-- Eighties chart-toppers Bananarama (Venus) are coming to the Hard Rock Cafe in Tampa on Oct. 5. Tickets are $15. Stuck in the '80s has the details.

-- Shawn Colvin and Gregg Rolie, the original lead singer of Santana, have been added to the lineup to this year's Ribfest, Nov. 9-11 at Vinoy Park in St. Petersburg. They join an already solid lineup that includes Heart, Buddy Guy, Montgomery Gentry and Jonny Lang. Meanwhile, several sites are reporting that Blues Traveler may join the lineup on Saturday, Nov. 10. We'll keep you posted.

-- Brooklyn's Oberhofer will open for Matt and Kim on Oct. 16 at the Ritz Ybor.
