SoundBytes: Pavement, Joe Popp, Joel Osteen and more

-- Tampa expat Joe Popp, above, is among those playing the Sensory Overload 5 concert on March 27. But that's not the only reason he'll be coming back to Tampa. The Jobsite Theater will reprise Popp's rock-opera take on Pericles on April 7-11, before it gets a staging in Manhattan. Click here for the details.

-- How far are you willing to drive to see this summer's Pavement reunion? They've announced a few more U.S. dates for summer and fall, and Atlanta's Tabernacle is on the list, for Sept. 26. We're not holding our breath for a Pavement trek through Florida, so this might be the closest show they'll play to Tampa Bay. Who's up for a roadie?

-- All you Danny Gokey fans who got so amped up when the former American Idol finalist came to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, take note: He's coming to the Dallas Bull in Tampa on April 9. Tickets are only $9.95, and they went onsale today. Wear your glasses.

-- Some artists have been added to this year's Lilith Fair lineup: Kelly Clarkson, the Bangles, the Go-Go's, Martina McBride, Suzanne Vega and Anya Marina, among others. But still no word on a date, location or lineup for Tampa's Lilith Fair stop!

-- Cool innovation for this spring's Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers tour, which hits the St. Pete Times Forum on May 9. If you purchase tickets online, you'll get an mp3 download of Petty's new album, Mojo. You'll also get a selection of live tracks recorded during the tour, once the tour wraps up. Tickets go onsale March 8. Click here for details.

-- Speaking of Petty, The Almost have contributed a cover of Free Fallin' to the upcoming comp Punk Goes Classic Rock. It's streaming at

-- File this under, I dunno, Christian? Surely there will be some gospel music at this event. Joel Osteen and his wife Victoria, pastors of America's biggest church, are coming to the St. Pete Times Forum at 7:30 p.m. June 4. Tickets are $15, and they go onsale at 10 a.m. Saturday. Click here.

-- Choreographer and dancer Nick Bass, who danced with Michael Jackson during the rehearsals that became This Is It, is coming to Clearwater to teach a class at the Studio Dance Company on March 27. He'll be working with dancers of all ages. Click here for details.

-- Automatic Loveletter has posted a new song, Heart Song, on their MySpace.

-- Shows for Copeland's farewell tour are starting to sell out, so if you want to go to their gig April 8 at the State Theatre, you better buy your tickets.

-- You could argue that Eve 6 was the first band we here at SoundcheckCorp. saw in concert -- they were opening for Our Lady Peace and Third Eye Blind in 1998, and that was our first concert, so there you go. Anyway, Eve 6 is coming to the State Theatre in St. Petersburg on May 28. Tickets are $25-$30. Inside Out and Open Road Song still rules!
