SoundBytes: Pepper, Washed Out, VersaEmerge and more
-- These bros look like the type of bros you'd want to party with, right, bro? They're known as Pepper, and they'll be performing with Shwayze at Jannus Live in St. Pete on Oct. 1. Tickets are $25. Click here, bro.
-- That Yeasayer concert Oct. 4 at the State Theatre just got a whole lot more interesting (as if that's possible), because according to Aestheticized Presents, glammed-out no-fi beatmasters Washed Out will be opening up. If you haven't already, you must download this song.
-- First, Tampa's Dominique Unique Young signs on to tour with the Dirty Projectors. Now Tampa band Miggs is opening for Live frontman Ed Kowalczyk on an upcoming solo tour. COINCIDENCE?!?!? (Probably.)
-- We gushed over Tampa's Automatic Loveletter when they came to St. Pete for the Warped Tour in July. They're coming back to town on Oct. 6, opening for Valencia at the Orpheum in Ybor City. Tickets are $10.50-$12.50.
-- Another Scion Radio event Monday in Tampa: Don Rimini, Harvard Bass, Franki Chan and Gina Turner. Click here for details.
-- Speaking of the Warped Tour: Alkaline Trio's Matt Skiba had some kind words to say about Florida pop-punk band VersaEmerge, fronted by Redington Shores' own Sierra Kusterbeck, on Spin.com: "I was out on my BMX bike checking out bands on the tour one day and caught their set by chance. They blew me away with their songs and presence and made me feel that I was watching the next big thing. They already have a huge following but they also have a big and bright future before them and seem to be really cool kids. They're sexy and they rock. S--- is gonna be huge."
