"SoundBytes." It sounds so much cooler than "News," in a mid-'90s Johnny Mnemonic kind of way.

Anyway. On we go.

-- Folk-pop singer/songwriter Brandi Carlile, above, will play at the Capitol Theater in downtown Clearwater on Feb. 18. Tickets are $31, and go onsale Friday. Click here for details.

-- Phish will play four nights of concerts at American Airlines Arena in Miami at the end of December, Dec. 28-31. Yeah, you weren't doing anything those four days, were you? Tickets go onsale through Ticketmaster on Nov. 21, though some ticket requests are being accepted through Phish's Web site.

-- Former Soundcheck Artist of the Day Cope is in the running for something called the Homegrown Music Network Album of the Year. Click here to vote for 'em!

-- There's been a Khia sighting! Tampa's own foul-mouthed ladyrapper is scheduled to perform Dec. 11 at the State Theatre. Details are scarce, but check back here for details later on.

-- Lil Kee and Javon Black shooting a video for the track Lil Mama in Tampa on Friday. According to Javon Black's Twitter -- an unimpeachable source if ever there was one -- filming starts at 2 p.m. Friday at the Powerhouse Gym building at 1208 E Kennedy Blvd. in Tampa.

-- Want a free download of the new Sheila Kirsten Hughes Band song, We Are All We Need? Of course you do. Here it is.

-- Set It Off is campaigning to be named Alternative Press' Best Unsigned Band contest. Help 'em out, won't you?

-- Plies wants to spend Thanksgiving with you.

-- When a concert is being billed as "The Most Interesting Show In The World," it might be worth checking out. The free gig is at 8 p.m. Nov. 18 at Skipper's Smokehouse. Hosted by Angelo Moore of Fishbone, it will feature acts like contortionist Mei Ling and The Human Slinky. You never know -- The Most Interesting Man in the World might show up, too. Click here for details.

-- Select Start has a new Tumblr blog. That's what the kids call it, right? A "Tumblr blog?" Good.
