SoundBytes: Roscoe Dash, Sick Puppies, Jim Gaffigan and more

-- One of our must-see concerts of spring, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals (above) on Friday at the State Theatre, is sold out.

-- Roscoe Dash and Hurricane Chris are not part of Wild Splash on March 12, but they WILL headline a Wild Splash Teen Party on March 11 at the Manatee Civic Center in Palmetto. Click here.

-- A handful of sites are reporting that Sick Puppies are perforiming at Vinoy Park on May 28. Does this mean they'll be headlining this year's 97X Memorial Day Backyard BBQ?

-- According to his website, pasty but hilarious comic Jim Gaffigan is coming to Ruth Eckerd Hall on July 22. We'll update you with ticket info when we get it.

-- First The Deadliest Catch is coming to Ruth Eckerd Hall. Then Pawn Stars is coming to the Straz Center. Now we find out Buddy "Cake Boss" Valastro is coming to the Straz "for an evening of cakes, stories and fun." Frankly, we'd rather get an evening of Paul F. Tompkins AS the Cake Boss, but we'll take what we can get. Valastro will be in Tampa on June 3. Click here.

-- Kudos to local rockers (and former Soundcheck Artists of the Day) Orange Hour for getting mentioned in a New York Magazine story about the culture of St. Petersburg. And right alongside Vampire Weekend, no less!
