SoundBytes: The Situation, Lady Gaga, the Jerky Boys and more

-- Yeah, baby, that's The Situation from MTV's Jersey Shore judging a bikini contest at The Venue in St. Petersburg over the weekend. Luis Santana shot a whole gallery of Situation photos, bikini photos and straight-up Tampa Bay trashiness photos. Click here for the pics.

-- Lady Gaga may be stirring up a fuss with her new NSFWish Telephone video, but you won't get to tell her how you feel about it in person. She announced dates for a huge summer arena tour, and there are no Florida dates on the list.

-- We reported this a couple of months ago, but Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band are coming to Clearwater's Ruth Eckerd Hall on July 13, alongside artists like Edgar Winter, Gary Wright and Rick Derringer. -- What's the connection between Tampa software designer David Rajala and legendary prank callers the Jerky Boys? Two words: iPhone apps. Click here to read the story.

-- It's a good thing this concert isn't in Tampa, or else it would be a strong candidate for Soundcheck's coveted WTF Concert of the Year Award: Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band are performing Saturday at the House of Blues in Orlando. Tickets start at $25. Click here for details.

-- Sister Hazel has been confirmed for a show at the Ritz Ybor on April 30. Tickets are $19; they go onsale Thursday at 10 a.m. Click here to buy.

-- You thought we were kidding when we namedTampa's GreyMarket one of tbt*'s 2010 Ultimate Local Bands? Check out this rave concert review from a writer in Kansas City: "Looking for a band to follow to the top? You may have found it in GreyMarket ... They are like an electronic rock hybrid compound of Muse, the Mars Volta, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and the Thermals." Click here for the full review.

-- House of Hitz in Tampa is putting together yet another Haiti relief benefit -- this one at noon Saturday (3/20) at Dogwater Cafe, 3611 W Hillsborough Ave., Tampa. Artists scheduled to appear include the Latin League, DJ Blaze, Beatnik Castle and more. Click here for the details.

-- Kudos to the orchestra students at John Hopkins Middle School in St. Petersburg -- under the tutelage of David O'Neill, the school's advanced orchestra class garnered the top available rating in a recent assessment by the Florida Orchestra Association. It's kind of an FCAT for music. Click here to read about their accomplishment.
