-- According to their website, Walking on the Sun popsters Smash Mouth are plotting a Dec. 29 gig at the Hard Rock Cafe in Tampa. No details on tickets yet, but most music critics would agree you should probably plan your entire holiday around this show.

-- Some big-name comics are coming to the Tampa Improv this fall, including a couple of heavyweights for just one night only: Gabriel Iglesias (Oct. 13), Carlos Mencia (Oct. 19), D.L. Hughley (Oct. 21-23), Kevin Nealon (Nov. 4-5), Cash Cab's Ben Bailey (Nov. 11-12) and Alonzo Bodden (Nov. 17-29). Click the names for more details on each show.

-- Conspirator, an electronic jam project involving the Disco Biscuits' Marc Brownstein and Aron Magner, is coming to the State Theatre on Oct. 7. Tickets are $16. Click here.

-- This sounds fun: Cigar City Brewing is putting on a free rock festival. It's an after party of sorts for the Red Bull Flugtag, and it takes place Oct. 8 at the Tampa Bay History Center. The Beauvilles, Tim Hutchinson and more are on the bill. Click here.

-- Try as you might, you can't keep the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus out of Tampa Bay. The Jacksonville pop-punk group, who most recently performed at Jannus Live a couple of months ago, will perform at the State Theatre on Nov. 20. Tickets are $15. Click here.

-- The 2011 DeLuna Fest in Pensacola has unveiled its day-by-day lineup for Oct. 14-16. Don't know about you, but we're eyeballing that Friday slate awful hard -- Weezer, Girl Talk, Cake, Matt and Kim, Stars, Ra Ra Riot, Cold War Kids, Trombone Shorty, Wanda Jackson, A-Trak, Sleeper Agent and Givers. Wow.
