SoundBytes: Tokyo Police Club, John Stamos, 'Glee' auditions and more
-- It looks like Tokyo Police Club will be opening for Passion Pit on June 14 at the Ritz Ybor, turning a pants-bespoilingly awesome concert into even more of a must-see event. Tickets are $20; click here to purchase.
-- John Stamos isn't a Beach Boy, he just plays one whenever he gets the chance. You can see him performing with the Beach Boys at 9:30 p.m. Saturday at Universal Orlando.
-- Thursday's A Day to Remember show at the Ritz Ybor? Sold out.
-- Bedreadlocked American Idol reject Jason Castro: Is this guy here like every weekend? He'll be at the Capitol Theatre in Clearwater on May 8, according to his Web site. No ticket info just yet.
-- Are you a good singer, but your voice was deemed too Broadway-sounding for American Idol? Here’s your chance to audition for Glee. The Fox musical phenomenon (and new Rolling Stone cover subject) launched a nationwide casting call Tuesday for performers for Season 2. You must be between the ages of 16 and 26 (because, you know, a lot of high school kids look like 26-year-olds) and submit a video audition at myspace.com/gleeauditions.
-- Clearwater fans got a concert by Damian Marley a few weeks ago at Wild Splash, but they're not going to see him with Nas. The rapper and reggae artist announced plans for a tour, and it's coming to the House of Blues in Orlando on June 13, but not Tampa.
-- Next week's concert at Studio Inc. by Puerto Rican reggaeton artists Baby Rasta y Gringo has been postponed indefinitely because Baby Rasta got, um, shot.
-- One of tbt*'s 2010 Ultimate Local Artists, GreyMarket, is playing tbt*'s Ultimate Music Showcase on April 17 at Skipper's Smokehouse -- and they want you to help pick their setlist. Click here to do so. And click here for all the details on the super-extremely-awesome show...
