SoundBytes: Tone Loc, the Spill Canvas, Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt and more

-- Ain't no party like a Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt party. Need proof? See the above photo. The buzzworthy NCY dance collective (who are signed to David Byrne's Luka Bop label) are coming to Crowbar on March 6 with the Shakes.

-- South Dakota rockers The Spill Canvas are coming to the State Theatre on May 10, according to Pollstar and others.

-- Last spring, when we first checked out a concert at Push Ultra Lounge, we recommended that the venue start booking "blog-friendly dance and hip-hop acts." We're not sure if Tone Loc counts, but we'll take him. He's performing at Push on March 19. Cick here for a flyer.

-- Hot news from Have Gun, Will Travel: Their Postcards From the Friendly City had a solid debut on CMJ's college radio charts, debuting at No. 16 on the Top Adds chart and No. 72 overall. The band's distribution deal with Suburban Home Records began this week.

-- Organizers of Miami's Ultra Music Festival on March 26-27 have announced their second wave of headliners, including David Guetta, Sasha and Digweed, Paul Oakenfold, Orbital, Damian Marley and Nas, Little Boots, Calvin Harris, Benny Banassi and more. They join previously announced headliners Tiesto, Deadmau5, Carl Cox, Armin Van Buuren, Passion Pit, and more. Click here for all the details.

-- Matt Hires' Take Us To The Start is getting a deluxe re-release with several previously unreleased demos.

-- If you're down with 98 Rockfest (Alice in Chains, Limp Bizkit, Puddle of Mudd) on April 24 in Tampa, you might also want to check out Earthday Birthday (Korn, Papa Roach, Chevelle, Five Finger Death Punch) on May 1 in Orlando.

-- Rolling Stone is officially on the bandwagon of buzzworthy West Palm Beach shoegazers Surfer Blood.

-- Despite the presence of the Genitorturers and Retard-O-Bot, it sounds like the Snoop Dogg show at the State Theatre on Monday was kind of a bust. So ... is Snoop Dogg officially in need of a comeback at this point?
