Steve Earle coming to Orpheum in Ybor City

Ybor City's Orpheum is generally known for hardcore, metal and indie rock shows, with the occasional big-name curveball (Patrick Stump) thrown in to keep you guessing.

But we have to say, this one came out of nowhere.

Renegade country singer-songwriter/playwright/actor/all-around badass Steve Earle will perform at Orpheum on Dec. 9, according to a press release.  Tickets are $34-$38. Click here to get 'em.

This is being billed as a solo acoustic show with his wife, singer-songwriter Allison Moorer, so while you might be treated to alt-country classics like Copperhead Road, I Feel Alright and Hard-Core Troubadour, they'll be stripped-down versions. But that's fine by us -- Earle is probably a killer storyteller who will turn this into a brilliantly different night in Ybor City.

We did not ask specifically if Earle will be joined onstage by Bubbles from The Wire, but we assume that goes without saying.
