You would think Stone Temple Pilots would want to make nice with their fans in Tampa after canceling a concert at the Ford Amphitheatre last August with no advance notice.

If this is their attempt at a make-good, it ain't a great one. The band is embarking on a fall tour, and while they've seen fit to book a show in St. Augustine, of all places, the closest they're coming to Tampa is a gig Oct. 4 at Hard Rock Live at the Universal Orlando CityWalk.

To be fair, they do have a day off on Oct. 5, so I suppose we can hold out hope that they'll book a last-minute show in Tampa on that date. But you never know -- the weather might act up again, and apparently thunder frightens Weiland.
