The David A. Straz Jr. Center for the Performing Arts unveiled its 2012-13 schedule this weekend, and in addition to its usual slate of classical, jazz and Broadway acts, you can look forward to a handful of new ones.

Former Tropical Heatwave headliners the Carolina Chocolate Drops (above, Feb. 15), freshly shorn reggae-rapper Matisyahu (Feb. 23 at the Tampa Theatre), Grateful Dead tribute Dark Star Orchestra (Sept. 21) and violinist Hilary Hahn (Feb. 27) are all on the upcoming calendar. Comedians Jerry Seinfeld (March 30), Lewis Black (April 18), Brian Regan (Feb. 15), Cheech and Chong (Nov. 10) and Jeff Dunham (Feb. 22 at the Tampa Bay Times Forum) are also all on the Straz's bill. And just so you're prepared, Dog Whisperer Cesar Millan willl be at the Straz on June 15.

The Straz had already announced upcoming shows by the likes of Andrew Bird (Oct. 9), Idina Menzel (Dec. 1), Louis C.K. (Nov. 29) and Mike Birbiglia in My Girlfriend's Boyfriend (Jan. 24). And it also announced the Tony-winning smash The Book of Mormon would hit Tampa sometime in 2013-14.
