Students: Want to score cheap tickets to DeLuna Fest 2011 in Pensacola?
Even though Pensacola is a workday's drive from Tampa Bay, we can't deny our excitement for this year's DeLuna Fest on Oct. 14-16, featuring the likes of Linkin Park, Weezer (above), Jane's Addiction, the Shins, Big Boi, Cake, Girl Talk, Manchester Orchestra and many more.
We bet we're not alone, either.
If you've been thinking about making the roadie to the Panhandle, and you're a student in college, high school or junior high, have we got a deal for you.
On Sept. 21, DeLuna Fest representatives will be in Tampa selling a limited number of three-day passes for a flat fee of $105, which is nearly half off the current price of $189.95 (plus fees and taxes). Here's how to get them:
-- From noon to 3 p.m., DeLuna Fest reps will be stationed in the Marshall Center at USF in Tampa, with 50 tickets available for students with a valid ID. It's first come, first served, cash only.
-- From 4 to 7 p.m., look for reps at the Mellow Mushroom, 10959 Causeway Blvd., Brandon. This time, they'll have 100 tickets available for those with valid student ID (same deal: first come, first served, cash only).
Bonus: Both locations will have a raffle for two general admission passes, with the winner to be announced sometime after Sept. 23.
If you're still wavering on DeLuna 2011, the festival is due to release its full daily schedule any day now, with the headliners slated to be Weezer on Friday, Jane's Addiction Saturday and Linkin Park Sunday.
