Tampa Bay's 5 best dance clubs
Does Lady Gaga's upcoming show at the Ritz Ybor make you wanna get off your butts and just dance? It'll be okay. Here are our picks for the top five dance clubs in Tampa Bay:
Czar: Most of the week, this Ybor City vodka bar is the domain of indie-rock-loving scenesters. But on Fridays, Czar’s Pulp the Party, above, draws remix-crazed party people from all over central Florida, not to mention top DJs like Girl Talk, Diplo, Switch and BT. “In the first two months of this year we’ve come closer to capacity more times than we had done in the entire year previously,” said Paul Geller, a.k.a. Pauly Crush, one of the Orlando DJs who drives over for Pulp nights. 1420 E Seventh Ave., Tampa. (813) 247-2664.
Floyd’s: When we say the party never stops at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino’s signature nightclub, we mean it. Last call isn’t until 6 a.m. That means all the clubgoers who aren’t yet sleepy migrate to the casino after 3 a.m., and DJs Santana, Kidd Leow and the occasional guest artist — DJ AM, Dirty Vegas, even will.i.am stopped by during the Super Bowl — always have things hot when they arrive. 5223 N Orient Road, Tampa. (866) 502-7529.
