First Set It Off signs to Equal Vision Records. Now big things are happening for another of tbt*'s Ultimate Local Artist.

Tampa's Marksmen are about to embark on a monthlong tour opening for indie-pop-rock band Eisley, which will see them playing 22 dates between Tampa and the West Coast throughout September. The tour will hit Crowbar in Ybor City on Sept. 23.

Going on tour with Eisley "feels like Christmas for us," said Marksmen drummer Reed Murray. "Our primary goal since releasing our album, Sister of Mine, has been to branch out of Florida and tour as much as we can. The problem with that lately is, it's very hard to book a solid few weeks playing out-of-state shows (even planning ahead two or three months) on our own. Eisley provided a solution to that problem for us."

For Murray, the tour brings another benefit. He's dating singer-songwriter Christie DuPree, the younger sister of Eisley's DuPree siblings -- Chauntelle (guitars), Garron (bass), Sherri (vocals/guitars), Weston (drums) and Stacy (vocals/keys). Christie DuPree will also open all the shows.

"Considering she lives in Texas and I live here in Florida, it will be great to spend time together for a month," Murray said.

Before they leave, Marksmen is trying to raise a little cash for the road. They've stared a Kickstarter campaign to help raise money for gas, food and maybe a little lodging. There are some fun incentives on there, ranging from a pair of Marksmen wristbands ($5) to a recorded cover song of your choice by singer Matt Segallos ($300) to the ultimate prize: For $2,500, guitarist Chris Brickman will get your name tattoed on his body.

If you don't have any spare cash, at least you'll have one more chance to wish the band luck before they hit the road. Marksmen will open for The Dear Hunter on Aug. 18 at the Orpheum in Ybor City. Tickets are $12.50. Click here to get 'em.
